Neighborhood Cleanup & Recycling Day

Join us for the Neighborhood Cleanup & Recycling Day, during the spring and fall seasons, from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at Norcross Public Works! We're making it easy to do your part by accepting single-stream recyclables, glass bottles and jugs, electronics and scrap metal. 

Attendees must live within Norcross city limits to participate—check here to verify. Each household is allowed one visit per event as multiple trips are not permitted. Check out the full list of accepted items down below.

Recycling & Cleanup Event

Drop-off collections available for Secure Shredding, Electronics Recycling, Scrap Metal, Hard to Recycle Material, Single-Stream Recycling, Glass Recycling, and Bulk Material Disposal.

Hazardous material (paint, batteries, large car parts, motor, tires, oil, anti-freeze, concrete, household chemicals and similar items) WILL NOT BE ALLOWED. Items must be of reasonable size and environmentally safe to be disposed of properly.

Medical Equipment Recycling
Drop off the following medical equipment: 

  • Wheelchairs, both manual and power)
  • Standers
  • Strollers
  • Corner chairs
  • Gait trainers
  • Shower supports
  • Canes
  • Walkers
  • Hoyer lifts
  • Hospital beds

Shredding and Recycling
Safe and secure document shredding with SHRED-IT! Limit 5 boxes per resident.

Electronics Recycling
Drop off old or damaged electronics. See full list of accepted materials.

Scrap Metal
Drop off any scrap metal (steel, copper, aluminum, and stainless) to be endlessly recycled into new material!

Hard to Recycle Materials
Drop off the following hard to recycle materials: 

  • Natural wine corks (no plastic
  • Useable eyeglasses and hearing aids
  • Cell phones with all personal information removed
  • Sneakers in any condition
  • Unopened hotel toiletries
  • Clean grocery bags
  • Empty pens, mechanical pencils, and art supply packaging
  • Clean towels and blankets
  • Plastic plant pots

Single-Stream Recycling
Drop off single-stream recyclable materials (empty and dry #1-2 plastic bottles and jugs, aluminum and steel cans; mixed paper (not shredded), flattened cardboard, and cartons).

Glass Recycling 
Drop off glass bottles. (Remember that this service is available regularly on Monday-Friday from 8:00am- 5:00 p.m.)

Bulk Material Disposal
Drop off any irreparable bulky items and accumulated trash. Solvent or hazardous material (paint, batteries, large car parts, motor, tires, oil, anti-freeze, concrete, household chemicals and similar items) WILL NOT BE ALLOWED. Items must be of reasonable size and environmentally safe to be disposed of properly.
